Hutchies has completed over $18M of construction work with Kennards Self Storage nationally. From major greenfield works to storage facility demos, we have covered a range of scope. Of particular note are the $7.4M new facility completed in Brisbane last year and the $6.2M storage facilities currently under construction at Adelaide airport. 

For the Brisbane facility, Hutchies completed the design and construction of a new ground floor plus four levels of self-storage, undercover car parking and retail shop. The project included cut and fill civil works to create a level building platform prior to extensive in-ground works with the installation of pre-cast piles and footings to lift and stair cores. 

We coordinated the connection of a new water main which included a cross-road connection plus additional works to connect the sewer to existing QUU infrastructure. External works also included landscaping and extensive re-turfing of footpaths and existing swale drain along Lytton Road. The building itself is a reinforced post-tensioned concrete slab and concrete structure clad in Colorbond custom orb cladding fixed to external girts in Kennards corporate colours. It is serviced by two goods lifts and also includes three fire escape stair cores which tie the structure together. 

The internal fit-out of the building includes a retail shop to ground floor, client meeting room, kitchenette and PWD toilet all fitted out to Kennards standard specifications.
